Wrexham have now parted ways with Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer this summer.

Since Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac took over, Wrexham have been able to garner a huge international audience.

Welcome to Wrexham viewing figures have been revealed, with each episode seeing millions of fans tune in.

While their roles were diminished in 2024/25, no two players encapsulated the Dragons’ recent rise more than Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer.

However, Mullin has joined Wigan Athletic on loan for the 2025/26 season and Palmer has moved to Swindon Town this week, signing a two-year contract.

Wrexham fans make Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer point

Following their exits being confirmed, Wrexham fans have been discussing the iconic duo on social media.

When doing so, they spoke about how Mullin and Palmer were so crucial to the club’s rise in the Rob and Ryan era and how fans may not see that kind of spirit from the new group of players.

One fan wrote: “Palmer and Mullin WERE the rise and it’s not gonna be the same without them. Torch passed on now, but I doubt we’ll ever see the same kind of spirit again. Quality – yes, but them two ran the dressing room b2b2b and it hurts bad.”

A second replied: “Exactly that. It was a real, had to be there, moment. Watching the 2 of the them bounce off each other and battle for one another.”

“I agree. I’m new to Wrexham ever since the doc came out. But Ollie, and Mullin had actual heart for the organization. Will these new guys care like these two fellas do? It’s going to be so different,” asked a third.

A fourth fan stated: “It wasn’t even just the talent was it, it was the energy, partnership, feeling of it all. Never to be replicated again.”

Another went as far as to suggest the pair need to be given statues: “I think it’s okay to say they should have a statue of them together outside the racecourse holding up the NL trophy to signify the start of the rise back to the top.”

Who will be Wrexham’s new Ollie Palmer and Paul Mullin

Since the 2025 January transfer window, Wrexham have made wholesale changes to their attack.

Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez were signed in that window, signalling the beginning of the end for Mullin and Palmer.

Rodriguez is now injured, and there are already more players who have come in to start in yet another new-look front line.

Kieffer Moore has stepped into the Palmer role with ease, already scoring three goals this season.

Behind him, Josh Windass was playing well until his recent injury, and it looks like Nathan Broadhead will now partner Moore up top for the time being.
