Josh Windass has praised the impact Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have had at Wrexham over the last several years.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have supported the Red Dragons heavily, both on and off the pitch.

The Racecourse Ground renovations will be completed next season, after £25m funding from the local council was secured.

In the transfer market, Rob and Ryan sanctioned a £33m spending spree this summer, which included the addition of Josh Windass, who has now praised the North American owners.

Josh Windass praises ‘amazing’ impact of Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac at Wrexham

In an interview with The Athletic this week, Windass shared his verdict on Reynolds and Mac, dubbing the work they do as ‘amazing’.

He said: “All the other stuff the owners do is amazing.

“The community, the [new Kop] stand, the stadium and all the money they are putting into it. But the key component of any football team is to win and that’s what they have done.

“We need to do the same. We need to get winning and get up the table.”

It’s not just Windass who thinks the Hollywood stars have had a positive impact at Wrexham, though, with Wales’ First Minister previously praising Mac and Reynolds.

She said: “Ryan and Rob have done amazing things for Wrexham, they have a great vision and it’s brilliant that they’ve committed to the area as a whole.

“Without question, it’s been a massive shot in the arm for the area. I popped into the Turf and people were explaining to me how Ryan and Rob’s influence has really put Wrexham on the map.”

The Red Dragons have been on an upward trajectory ever since Rob and Ryan took over, but their rapid rise, at least on the pitch, has been brought to an abrupt halt in the Championship.

Ryan Reynolds’ private feelings about Wrexham in the Championship

As Windass mentioned, Wrexham need to start winning more and move up the table.

They have secured just two victories so far this season, sitting 18th before the weekend’s action.

On the back of their slow start, it has been reported that Reynolds is privately frustrated by Wrexham.

He and Rob are eyeing Premier League promotion within the next two years, a goal that now looks very ambitious.

An away meeting with Stoke City is up next for the Dragons, before games against Oxford United and Middlesbrough next week.
