Wrexham are adding to their already inflated squad with the signing of Nathan Broadhead.

The Red Dragons have been pursuing a move for Nathan Broadhead for some time now.

It has now emerged on Thursday that Wrexham have agreed a £10m deal for Broadhead with Ipswich Town.

The winger will become the club’s new record signing, surpassing the previous record by some distance.

Fans have had a lot to say about Wrexham paying £10m for Broadhead, with many of the opinion that it’s too much.

Regardless of how much the Welsh side are paying, his addition means Phil Parkinson will have to leave another player out of his 25-man Championship team.

Wrexham Championship squad after Nathan Broadhead

With the transfer window still open, clubs do not have to submit their squad list yet.

However, EFL rules mean Wrexham can’t register more than 25 players aged 21 or above in their league squad from September.

Many players have already left the Racecourse Ground in the last few months, but the Dragons, with Broadhead, still have 30 players aged 21 or higher.

5 players who could leave Wrexham

Five players could remain at the club and just not play any league football until next year.

But the more likely option is that players will be sold or loaned out.

Despite scoring twice against Hull City, Ollie Palmer has been told to leave Wrexham.

Parkinson has already confirmed that Jacob Mendy is expected to leave on loan.

As for the other three players (maybe more depending on the rest of Wrexham’s business this summer), with Broadhead joining, it’s hard to see Jack Marriott having any role at the club this season.

Dan Scarr could be sent out on loan, with rumours of a potential transfer to Burton Albion.

George Evans is another who seems to be pretty far down the pecking order right now.
