Wrexham Football Club have well and truly been put on the football map in recent years with their incredible rise to fame capturing the attention of audiences around the globe.
In 2020, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney made the surprising move of purchasing Wrexham, with the aim of taking them to the promised land of the Premier League.
Wrexham are currently in an intense League One promotion battle but are out of the FA Cup following a defeat to Harrogate Town in the first round.
Phil Parkinson called the result a ‘wake up call’ but it seems the significance of the result could run deeper than just an exit from the world’s oldest football competition.

FA Cup defeat has cost Wrexham’s owners potential £120,000
Owners Reynolds and McElhenney have lost a staggering amount of money since taking over the club in 2020, with finance expert Kieran Maguire claiming on the Price of Football Podcast that the figure could be close to £20m.
According to the Football Association’s prize fund defeat in the first round of the FA Cup has cost the club a potential £120,000 already.
Wrexham were expected to beat League Two side Harrogate Town and could have potentially set up a third-round tie away at Leeds United – Harrogate’s reward for making it to round three.
The prize money would have gone a long way to ensuring the financial stability of the club however, there is a belief that even if the club was sold Ryan and Rob wouldn’t leave.
Phil Parkinson to use fixture break to get Jack Marriott back to full health
With Shrewsbury Town being Wrexham’s next game boss Phil Parkinson has been speaking about how he plans to use the break to prepare for the promotion charge.
Jack Marriott is getting closer to a first-team return and the Red Dragons will be eager to have him back following his five goals in just ten league appearances at the start of the season.

There was no such great news from Parkinson’s latest injury update with Lewis Brunt and Elliot Lee among those that will miss the clash against Shrewsbury Town.
Parkinson was nominated for the Manager of the Month award recently and will be hoping his side can continue their excellent form in order to chase down Birmingham City.
