Wrexham hero Darren Ferguson remains under pressure at Peterborough United despite handing debuts to Thomas O’Connor and Jacob Mendy.
Wrexham were busy on transfer deadline day, as Phil Parkinson brought in three new faces.
Ben Sheaf, Issa Kabore and Dominic Hyam all joined Wrexham as the window closed.
Wrexham also said goodbye to a handful of players, with George Evans leaving for Burton Albion.
Eoghan O’Connell has been released, while Thomas O’Connor and Jacob Mendy both joined Peterborough United.

Darren Ferguson on Jacob Mendy’s Peterborough United debut
Both O’Connor and Mendy have been vital players through Wrexham’s rise, but have fallen down the pecking order of late.
Wrexham allowed both players to leave on loan and struck deals to send them both to play for Darren Ferguson at Peterborough United.
Wrexham hero Ferguson sits bottom of the League One table, and has taken just one point from the first seven games.
O’Connor and Mendy made their first starts for the Posh on Saturday, but couldn’t prevent another defeat as Peterborough lost 3-2 at Huddersfield Town.
Ferguson is under pressure after a dreadful start to the season, and he has reflected on Mendy’s debut at left wing-back.
Speaking to BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, Ferguson accepted that Mendy tired as he made his first league start in a long time.
Ferguson praised both O’Connor and Mendy as ‘good players’, and believes that they will bring a ‘winning mentality’ to the Posh.
“Jacob was just tired, physically,” said Ferguson.
“They’re good players. We’ve bought in players from the Championship, and players that have got a winning mentality.
“I’ve seen a big improvement in the team in terms of many things, and we have to take the positives out of the game, and I know what large parts of that performance were good,” he added.
How Thomas O’Connor and Jacob Mendy were rated on Peterborough United debuts
O’Connor and Mendy have started with a defeat, and the Peterborough Telegraph rated their displays against Huddersfield.
They rated O’Connor at seven out of 10, suggesting that he caught the eye defensively and in possession, but his set-piece delivery missed the mark.
‘A solid defensive debut for the Wrexham loanee. Composed in possession, but his set-piece deliveries were disappointing,’ they wrote.
Mendy wasn’t quite as impressive, as they noted that the Gambian appeared to struggle physically as he was caught out when the Terriers levelled the score to make it 1-1.
Mendy was given a five out of 10 rating, with the Peterborough Telegraph also suggesting that he wasn’t great in possession.
‘He looked to have started to struggle physically when he was beaten too easily for the Huddersfield equaliser and went off soon afterwards. Not the tidiest in possession either,’ they wrote.
Mendy didn’t feature much last season and certainly needs some time to recapture his best form.
That will hopefully come with Peterborough, especially as Wrexham fans will always want the best for a club favourite in Ferguson.
