Wrexham couldn’t make it five home league wins in a row on Saturday afternoon as Phil Parkinson was left frustrated by Cambridge United.
Wrexham’s attention turned back to League One action over the weekend after beating Crewe Alexandra in the EFL Trophy.
Cambridge United visited the STōK Cae Ras and having struggled in League One so far this season, Wrexham will have been seeking another home win.
Phil Parkinson’s home record at Wrexham is incredible but this proved to be a frustrating afternoon.
Wrexham battled from a goal down to take a 2-1 lead and appeared to be on the verge of a victory.
Cambridge found a leveller though as Lewis Brunt hauled down Sullay Kaikai, allowing Dan Nlundulu to score from the spot.

Phil Parkinson hails Wrexham striker
Wrexham have been brilliant at home this season but this performance won’t live long in the memory.
Parkinson will have been so frustrated as Wrexham just failed to hit top gear against a Cambridge side who have struggled this term.
Garry Monk has praised Cambridge’s performance but Parkinson will probably just want to move on from this one quickly.
Parkinson did find some positives from Saturday’s game though with substitute Steven Fletcher catching the eye.
Wrexham fans hailed Ollie Rathbone for winning the ball back high up the pitch before teeing up Fletcher to score.
Fletcher’s goal should have won it for Wrexham but Parkinson has offered the Scot praise despite being pegged back late on.
Speaking on Wrexham Match Day Live, Parkinson stated that striker Fletcher is a ‘high quality’ player who can come up with big moments for Wrexham.
Parkinson pointed to Fletcher’s history at Premier League level and is hoping to see him continue to make an impact after recovering from injury.
“He’s a very high quality player which is not something which people don’t know,” said Parkinson.
“He’s played at a high level and we’re just trying to get him as fit as we possibly can, without over-training in him in terms of his knee but he is in a better place now than he has been for a while,” he added.
James McClean agrees on Steven Fletcher
Fletcher has been through some injury problems this season but is still a player who can make a big impact at League One level.
The 37-year-old has scored goals at Premier League and Championship level over the years and can still be a real threat this late into his career.
One man who knows Fletcher well is Wrexham captain James McClean, who played with the Scot at Sunderland and Stoke City.
Speaking on Wrexham Match Day Live, McClean agreed with Parkinson’s praise for Fletcher
“I’ve been quite lucky, I’ve played with Fletch at two other clubs before, that’s why I know him quite well,” said McClean.
“I know the quality he’s got and when you’ve got someone like that to bring off the bench, with his experience and his quality over the years – he’s a proven Premier League player.
“To be able to bring that on is obviously a massive bonus for us and he hasn’t lost that quality, he’s still got that,” he added.
Wrexham want a new striker in January but Fletcher will be keen to prove that he can make an impact throughout the season – even if only from the bench.
