Wrexham have snapped up striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson – and he already appears to be enjoying life under Phil Parkinson.
Wrexham looked to have a strong set of attackers just two weeks ago.
Jack Marriott, Ollie Palmer, Paul Mullin and Steven Fletcher offered Phil Parkinson four experienced, proven strikers.
Modou Faal’s arrival from West Bromwich Albion on deadline day handed Wrexham a young project to mould for the future too.
That situation suddenly changed though as Marriott and Fletcher both went down with injury problems.
Wrexham seemingly didn’t want youngster Faal as the only cover for Palmer and Mullin, so Parkinson had to explore the free agent market.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson on Phil Parkinson
Wrexham ended up going for Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, landing the Icelandic striker on a free transfer.
Bodvarsson has plenty of experience in English football with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Reading, Millwall and Bolton Wanderers.
The 32-year-old arrives on a deal until January and will offer Wrexham another physical threat in the final third.
Bodvarsson has now discussed his move to the STōK Cae Ras and drew attention to the impact of boss Parkinson.
The pair never crossed paths at Bolton but Bodvarsson has told Wrexham’s official website that he feels Parkinson and the Wrexham coaches have been ‘really good’ with him already.
Bodvarsson noted that Wrexham is a ‘very exciting’ club right now and wants to bring more success to the club moving forward.
The striker added that he wants to impress and see where it takes him, seemingly holding out hope for an extended stay.
“It’s great to be at a Club like Wrexham. Everyone knows the history by now and it’s just a very exciting Club to be a part of. I’m delighted to be here, and hopefully I can help the Club achieve further success,” said Bodvarsson.
“It’s good to be back in the dressing room. I really missed it – I think my wife was going crazy! I’ve been training and trying to keep myself fit, but it’s good to be back in the environment and to work on getting my sharpness back.
“The manager and the coaches have been really good with me, getting straight back into it. It’s about finding myself again over the next few months. I want to get my confidence back for myself, work hard for the Club, and see where it gets me,” he added.

Bodvarsson goal record
Wrexham have a real goal machine in Paul Mullin but that isn’t really Bodvarsson’s game.
Bodvarsson has been a real workhorse in the final third with his goal tally a little underwhelming.
Bodvarsson turned out 78 times in League One for Bolton but managed just 14 goals, including four in 36 games last season.
A spell at Millwall saw Bodvarsson score only five goals in 69 league games in the Championship, though he did manage 14 goals in 53 Championship games for Reading.
The move to Reading came after just three goals in 42 league outings for Wolves too.
Bodvarsson has never managed double digits in goal over the course of a single league campaign.
Wrexham will value Bodvarsson’s centre forward play though with his hold-up and link-up play ore likely to be on show than goalscoring exploits based on his history.
