Wrexham are embarking on their first campaign in the second tier of English football for the first time in 43 years, and one of their marquee summer signings, Kieffer Moore, has shared his thoughts on their start.

The Red Dragons currently sit 18th in the Championship, having won two and drawn four of their opening nine fixtures, coincidentally the same start to Wrexham’s first-ever campaign at this level.

Moore has been selected for Wales for the international break, where Wales will face England and Belgium, with this decision by manager Craig Bellamy coming due to the performances of the striker under Phil Parkinson this season.

Now the 33-year-old has given his opinion on how he feels the campaign is going for the Welsh club so far in the division.

Kieffer Moore believes Wrexham are just discovering their ‘momentum’

The Red Dragons got off to a slow start in the Championship this season as they struggled to find consistency; however, after the first international break, they have been on a four-game unbeaten run in the division.

This second international break may have come at the wrong time for Wrexham, as they were gathering momentum, and Kieffer Moore agrees with this sentiment, as he spoke ahead of Wales’ friendly with England, as reported by The Leader.

He said: “We can really see some momentum in, not just our results, the way we’re playing and the way we’re moving the ball.

“It’s come a long way, and hopefully we continue that.

“We’ve got a greater understanding where each of us like to go, and each of us like receiving in different areas.

“Just the way we’re playing now, it’s much more of a cohesion.”

Wrexham’s chances of promotion, according to Kieffer Moore

The Opta supercomputer has given Wrexham’s chances of promotion this season after their draw at the Racecourse Ground with Birmingham City.

It was a result that left them five points off the play-off positions and eight points off the automatic promotion positions; however, Moore remains positive there is a chance for Wrexham, if unlikely, of climbing to the Premier League.

He has twice clinched promotion with Bournemouth and Ipswich Town, so his opinion on how to achieve this is one that can be trusted.

Moore said: “Only judging from my personal experiences, it’s momentum really.

“You need to string results together; you need a group that’s hard-working and all on board.

“The Championship is relentless; it always has been.

“There’s no easy game, and we don’t underestimate anyone.”
