Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson has been shaking up his strikeforce in recent games as one loaned-out attacker can’t stop scoring.

The relentless nature of League One continues on Tuesday night as Wrexham host Lincoln City at the STōK Cae Ras.

Wrexham’s scheduled meeting with Lincoln was postponed in October and the rescheduled clash takes place this evening.

Phil Parkinson will be seeking a repeat of Saturday’s 3-0 win over Exeter City having made a big change to his attack.

Elliot Lee moved forward to support Ollie Palmer in attack with Wrexham struggling for goals of late.

The switch worked against Exeter and Parkinson will hope for more goals as Lincoln visit the STōK Cae Ras.

Sam Dalby reacts to beating Steven Fletcher

Parkinson has tinkered with his attack of late, taking Paul Mullin out of the side and bringing in new signing Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.

Wrexham were toothless in the 1-0 defeat at Stockport County, prompting changes from Parkinson.

Whilst Wrexham are trying to find the right formula in attack, Sam Dalby just can’t stop scoring away from the STōK Cae Ras.

Wrexham loaned Dalby to Dundee United on transfer deadline day and the move is certainly working for him.

Dalby scored for Dundee United in their 1-1 draw at Rangers on Saturday, taking his tally to five goals in his last six games.

Dalby recently won Dundee United’s Player of the Month award and Saturday’s goal at Ibrox means he remains on fire – and has already beaten Steven Fletcher’s record at Rangers.

Fletcher has never scored in eight games at Ibrox but Dalby is already off the mark against the Glasgow giants.

Speaking to The Courier, Dalby noted that it’s an ‘interesting’ record and one that he will poke some fun at Fletcher for in the future.

Dalby added that Fletcher is a ‘top man’ and has been helping him a lot with his move to Tannadice.

“That’s an interesting one – at least I’ve got one up on him on that front, then,” said Dalby.

“No, Fletch is a great player and he’s scored plenty of goals against plenty of other opposition. He’s been there and done it at the top levels. He’s been texting me a lot this season, especially after I’ve scored, and has given me advice about the club and settling into the area.

“Fletch is a top man and has been helping me out a lot,” he added.

How Steven Fletcher reacted to Dalby’s move

Dalby’s comments certainly show Fletcher as a great teammate and a veteran presence even with players who have departed Wrexham.

Dalby joining Dundee United had a special place in Fletcher’s heart though, given his own spell at Tannadice.

Fletcher spent the 2022-23 season with Dundee United, scoring 10 goals in 39 games before joining Wrexham.

Speaking in September, Dalby claimed that Fletcher was ‘buzzing’ with his move to Scotland, promising to come and watch some games when possible.

“Obviously, Fletch was here before and he had nothing but good things to say. He was buzzing I was coming here and told me he was going to come to a couple of games if he can. He was just happy that I managed to make the move,” said Dalby.

Dalby is certainly making the most of his move to Dundee United and will no doubt be turning a few heads with his goalscoring form.
