Mark Howard left Wrexham earlier this summer but continues to show his support for former teammates.

Mark Howard confirmed his exit back in May, suggesting he was ready to move on so he could start playing more regular football again.

Howard has since joined Salford City in League Two on a permanent basis following his exit from the Racecourse Ground.

He has featured for the North West outfit in the Carabao Cup, but he is yet to line up in the league.

Howard played 58 games for Wrexham and had a brief stint as their number-one last season amid injury issues with Callum Burton and Arthur Okonkwo.

Now, the shot-stopper has sent a message to his ex-teammate on Thursday following their exit.

Mark Howard message to former Wrexham teammate

It was confirmed this week that Jack Marriott has left Wrexham, signing a three-year deal with Reading.

Ryan Reynolds sent a goodbye message to Marriott after it was announced that the striker was leaving North Wales.

This was then followed by Rob Mac penning a message to the ex-Wrexham ace, in which he thanked the 30-year-old for his time at the club.

Now, on August 28, Marriott has posted about signing for Reading on Instagram, and various players have responded.

Howard was among them, commenting on the post: “Good luck mate,” followed by a clapping emoji.

Elsewhere, Sebastian Revan, who is currently on loan from Wrexham at Burton Albion, wrote: “All the best broo”.

Centre-back Dan Scarr stated: “All the best —-!” while George Dobson and Andy Cannon posted various emojis in the replies.

Jack Marriott set for swift Wrexham reunion

Marriott’s exit was confirmed on Tuesday, just hours before Wrexham beat Preston North End in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

It is the first time in over 40 years that the Dragons have made it into the draw for the third round, which was made on Wednesday evening.

Wrexham will play Reading in the Carabao Cup next month, and Marriott is able to feature.

The Royals themselves thought the striker was cup-tied, but as the below EFL rule explains, that is not the case:

“A Registered Player shall be permitted to play for up to two Clubs (or clubs) in the Competition in any one Season where such Player:

– has appeared for his parent Club (or club) in the Competition prior to the closure of the Summer Transfer Window and has subsequently moved to a different Club (or club) on a Temporary Loan Transfer or permanent Transfer prior to the end of that Summer Transfer window.”
