A former Wrexham player has been nominated for an award this week following an impressive start to life with another club.
Wrexham released eight players during the summer when their contracts at the Racecourse Ground expired.
From that group, Steven Fletcher has now retired from professional football and is focusing more on playing golf.
Mark Howard has moved to Salford City in League Two as he wanted to play more regular football.
Sam Dalby linked up with Bolton Wanderers, while Jordan Davies struggled to find a new club after his Wrexham axe but is now thriving.

Released Wrexham player Jordan Davies up for award
Davies confirmed his Wrexham exit in May, sending a special message to Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac.
He wrote: “My time at my hometown club has come to an end, safe to say we’ve been on a special journey not in my dreams when I joined back in Covid did I think I’d be leaving here 5 seasons later with it being a Championship club.
“With unbelievable achievements right along the way. I want to say thank you to all the players and staff that have helped me on the journey.
“It was a special group of lads the whole time.
“Special thank you @vancityreynolds and @robmcelhenney for changing the feel around the whole town, long may the Wrexham journey continue.”
The midfielder spent much of the summer without a team, instead training with the PFA’s free-agent squad.
Eventually, Davies signed for Fleetwood Town in late August, and his excellent form now has him up for an award.
The PFA have now announced via their official Instagram that the former Wrexham man has been nominated for the PFA League Two Fans’ Player of the Month nominees for September.
Jordan Davies goals since leaving Wrexham
Davies began his senior career in North Wales, going on to score 31 and assist one in 139 outings for the Dragons.
He fell down the pecking order last term, being loaned to Grimsby Town before his eventual release.
Davies has once again rediscovered his goalscoring boots since leaving Wrexham, though.
The 27-year-old already has three goals and one assist in six League Two matches for his new team.
Fleetwood boss Pete Wild has praised Davies for his exploits in recent weeks, saying: “I’ve been a big fan of Jordan for years, and he showed his quality today with two terrific finishes.
“He gives us balance, he can spot a pass, and he brings goals.”
