Ollie Palmer was not happy after playing what ended up being his last league game for Wrexham.

2024/25 was a difficult campaign for Ollie Palmer, who had previously been such a crucial figure at the Racecourse Ground.

The club gave him a contract extension in October 2024, but Phil Parkinson then dropped Palmer in late January.

A loan move for the Wrexham forward was touted in the winter window, but the Englishman revealed that he was against that.

Instead, Palmer remained with the Red Dragons for the remainder of 2024/25, but did not play a league match after January 28.

Ollie Palmer’s impeccable home record with Wrexham ended in final game

Wrexham faced Stevenage at the Racecourse Ground on January 28, 2025.

Paul Mullin and Max Cleworth found the net for the Dragons, but when all was said and done, they lost 3-2.

It was the first time they had suffered a home defeat in 10 months, and it also proved to be the final league match Palmer and Mullin would play for the club before their exits this summer.

Now, the 33-year-old has revealed on the Life of a Kitman podcast that he actually never lost a game at the Racecourse Ground until his final outing.

Palmer said: “It’s still a narcissistic stat, isn’t it? Let’s be honest. So, I can at least take the blame.

“It was so annoying because it would have been a pretty cool achievement, never to have lost a league game at the Racecourse.

“I was, I still am fuming about that.”

When was Ollie Palmer’s final Wrexham appearance

While he never played another league fixture after January 28, the now Swindon Town ace did feature early in 2025/26.

Kieffer Moore suffered an injury against Southampton, meaning Palmer came back into the squad for a Carabao Cup meeting with Hull City.

The club icon came off the bench with the Dragons trailing 3-1 but managed to net a brace to bring Wrexham back on level terms and send the tie to penalties.

Palmer won an EFL award for his performance against Hull on August 12, which proved to be his final-ever appearance as a Red Dragon.
