Rob Mac reacted to Ollie Palmer scoring two goals for Wrexham in the Carabao Cup.

Ollie Palmer endured a difficult 2024/25 season that saw him score three League One goals.

However, the striker nearly matched that tally in less than 45 minutes of football on Tuesday.

Wrexham beat Hull City after mounting a comeback from 3-1 down to win the cup tie on penalties.

Palmer has earned praise from fans following his performance, which saw him come off the bench to net two and draw the Dragons level.

Wrexham co-owner Rob Mac has now shown his support for the attacker.

Now that Paul Mullin has joined Wigan Athletic on loan, Palmer is one of the longest-serving Wrexham players.

The centre-forward was signed during Mac and Ryan Reynolds’ first full season and was a crucial player up until the second half of 2024/25.

Palmer’s future is heavily in doubt after Phil Parkinson essentially confirmed he would be leaving this summer.

But the striker was given a rare competitive appearance against Hull and more than took his chance with two goals.

Following the tie, Mac took to his Instagram story to share a post of Palmer celebrating during the fixture.

What Ollie Palmer said after Wrexham brace

August 12 was the first time Palmer scored for Wrexham in a competitive fixture for some time and the first time he’s netted a brace for the club since 2023.

Speaking after the match, the former number nine turned number 35 suggested it was one of his favourite memories with the club.

He told the club’s media: “Tonight probably went into the top two [memories]. Promotion out of the National League [favourite memory]. Honestly, it was so hard. The way we did that against Notts County was ridiculous.

“The three promotions, for me, are National League, League One and League Two in order of electricity and euphoria. But this is now in second place. So special.”
