Ollie Palmer is thriving away from Wrexham and could surpass an impressive Wrexham record set under Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac.

Phil Parkinson dropped Ollie Palmer from the League One squad in late January 2025.

After losing his place last term, Palmer had his Wrexham contract terminated at the end of August.

The 33-year-old has now joined Swindon Town on a free and is thriving under Ian Holloway.

Swindon play their football in League Two, and success for them in 2025/26 would mean Palmer notches a pretty insane record.

Ollie Palmer competing for promotion

Swindon fans love Palmer, who most recently scored in a 2-0 win over Bromley on Saturday.

That victory leaves Holloway’s men on the cusp of securing top spot in the fourth tier.

They are the joint-highest scorers in the division and are only one point off top spot at present.

Second place also secures automatic promotion in League Two, so if they keep up their current form, they’ll be a League One side by 2026/27.

Should that happen, Palmer will have won a staggering four promotions in a row as a player.

Wrexham have won back-to-back-to-back promotions under Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, but life in the Championship is proving difficult, and four in a row does seem unlikely.

In turn, Palmer will surpass the current group of Dragons players and achieve four in a row if Swindon go up.

However, there is one star still on Wrexham’s books that has managed to win four in a row already.

Wrexham player has already won four promotions in a row

Players like Palmer, Paul Mullin and Elliot Lee were with Wrexham from the early days of the takeover.

They are all three-time promotion winners as a result. But one player actually won a promotion right before he moved to North Wales.

Andy Cannon spent the second half of the 2021/22 season on loan in the National League with Stockport County.

Stockport finished as league champions that year, with Cannon then moving to Wrexham in the summer of 2022.
