Wrexham are enjoying some down time following their incredible third successive promotion.

Wrexham are facing backlash following the club’s announcement that they will be touring Australia and New Zealand as part of their pre-season tour.

However, Phil Parkinson will be busy planning on how he is going to formulate his 25-man Wrexham squad for next season and the challenges they face in the Championship.

Elliot Lee has hailed Wrexham for changing his life but is one player that could depart the Racecourse Ground this summer, alongside Ollie Palmer, who has opened up on his true feelings towards the owners.

Ollie Palmer reveals true feelings towards Wrexham owners

Parkinson has admitted Wrexham departures will happen this summer and after not being involved with the squad since January, Palmer is expected to move on.

However, in an interview with ‘Good Night New York’ as per FOX5, the Wrexham striker has revealed his admiration for Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Palmer stated: “The biggest compliment I can give them is that they make themselves relatable. They’re, it’s like they’re one of the boys you know and they spend a lot of time with us outside of football as well.”

McElhenney shared a photo with Palmer on their recent end-of-season celebration in Las Vegas and the relationship between the duo is very strong.

Palmer explained: “They just want to help you in any way, shape or form and they have a genuine interest, and what you see with them is what you get. Some people might think they’re doing it for the cameras but they’re not.”

Ollie Palmer’s next club amid Wrexham future uncertainty

Palmer signed a new contract with the club back in October 2024 to remain in North Wales until the end of the 2025-26 season.

However, with the arrivals of Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez, Palmer has moved way down the pecking order and is now likely to move away from the Red Dragons.

Palmer will have options this summer after Wrexham refused to allow him to leave in the January window following interest from a number of clubs.

However, the 33-year-old will be leaving the club full of great memories and love for the people he has achieved so much with – including Reynolds and McElhenney.
