George Dobson has been immense since he joined Wrexham during the 2024 summer transfer window.
The Red Dragons snapped George Dobson up on a free transfer from Charlton Athletic in the last transfer window.
The midfielder made 43 appearances in League One in 2023/24 and was seen as a major coup for Phil Parkinson and co.
The Welsh outfit made nine signings during the 2024 summer transfer window but the Wrexham manager was careful about how quickly he embedded a lot of them.
Lewis Brunt has shone for the club over the last month, but his game time was very limited in the early stages of 2024/25.
We are also still yet to see too much of Sebastian Revan in the league, while Dan Scarr remains in and out of the eleven despite his obvious quality.
However, Dobson was thrown straight in at the deep end by Parkinson and it’s fair to see he has thrived.

Matty James about to follow George Dobson into best Wrexham eleven
Wrexham legend Andy Morrell praised Dobson earlier this month after a stellar showing in the win over Mansfield Town.
The 27-year-old did miss the victory over Burton Albion at the weekend due to suspension, but he’s started the Red Dragons’ previous 18 League One fixtures this term.
Now, after having so much success with Dobson, Matty James is so close to breaking into Parkinson’s best eleven.
Similarly to Dobson, James was thrust into the starting line-up shortly after his arrival in October due to injuries and an Andy Cannon suspension.
However, it’s fair to say that the 33-year-old has grasped this new-found opportunity with both hands.
Parkinson labelled James ‘outstanding’ in late November and despite Cannon being back from suspension, the former Manchester United man kept his starting berth this past weekend.
Wrexham began the season with Dobson, Elliot Lee, and Cannon as their nailed-on midfield trio but James’ form suggests he is on course to take the latter’s spot in the team.

Matty James Wrexham contract update
However, while James has been superb during his short stint at the Racecourse, his future is still in doubt.
Wrexham signed James as a free agent in October due to George Evans being sidelined for a prolonged period and several midfielders close to suspension.
At present, his deal in Wales is due to expire on the 31st of December, 2024.
However, TWI revealed last month that Wrexham want to offer James a new contract.
We understand the club are very pleased with how James has performed of late and are now aiming to keep him on their books until the end of the 2024/25 season.
