Wrexham fans will take comfort in knowing that they got to witness the very best years of Paul Mullin.

Mullin’s departure to Wigan on a season-long loan came as no surprise to many supporters following his exile from the side last season.

The 30-year-old failed to feature in the league campaign from January onwards and his last kick of a ball for the Red Dragons was a missed penalty in the EFL Trophy semi-final.

Ryan Lowe hinted at a permanent move for Mullin during a recent interview but Wigan fans should be cautious over expecting too much from their latest addition.

Wrexham will hope Paul Mullin does score goals at Wigan

Not only will Mullin have the best wishes from those at Wrexham for what he has done for the club over the years but the Red Dragons have their own interest in the striker performing well at Wigan.

Should the forward start scoring on a regular basis, it will leave Wrexham in a stronger position when it comes to demanding a fee from the Latics.

There is no Wigan option to buy Mullin in the agreement over the loan spell and Wrexham will Know the value of a goal scorer to any club.

Should he fire and return to the Racecourse Ground, Parkinson will have himself a returning forward with a deep love for the club and a burning desire to prove the manager wrong.
