Wrexham will want Paul Mullin back in action as soon as possible.
The Red Dragons got their 2024/25 League One campaign off to a flying start last weekend.
Wrexham beat Wycombe Wanderers 3-2 at the Racecourse Ground, earning their first-ever three points in the third division.
However, the club’s top scorer from the previous campaign played no part in the win. Paul Mullin underwent surgery earlier this summer and has been sidelined since.
The 29-year-old found the net an impressive 26 times en route to promotion last term and was expected to be a key figure for Phil Parkinson at the start of this season.
Mullin has had some memorable Wrexham moments over the years and will no doubt have been devastated to miss their historic season opener against Wycombe.
After a high at the weekend, the Welsh outfit were knocked out of the League Cup in the first round by Sheffield United in midweek.
Wrexham now face Bolton Wanderers at 3pm BST on Sunday, August 17th, at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

Phil Parkinson provides Paul Mullin injury update
Bolton ended the previous season sat third in the division and are once again expected to be in the promotion mix come May.
Ian Evatt’s side will be a much tougher test than the one Wrexham faced last weekend and they could do with their star striker returning.
Speaking to BBC Wales ahead of Sunday’s fixture, Parkinson provided a positive update on Mullin’s recovery but did not confirm if he would feature on Sunday.
He said: “In terms of his injury, he looks great.
“Fitness-wise, he’s got work to do but he’s been out on the grass for the last week and he’s getting stronger each day.
“It’s a great lift for us to have Paul out there. We’ve got to be patient – we don’t want to re-injure him by exposing him too soon – but equally he’s been a fantastic player for us.”

Wrexham want to sign another striker
With Mullin out, the newly-promoted outfit are somewhat lacking quality centre-forward options.
He hit 24 goals in 2023/24 but behind Mullin, Parkinson’s second-highest-scoring strikers were Steven Fletcher and Ollie Palmer.
Both players only found the net eight times in all competitions last term and that tally is unlikely to increase now they are playing in a higher division.
However, it is clear Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are eager to strengthen up top before the window shuts.
Sheffield Wednesday duo Bailey Cadamarteri and Michael Smith are wanted by Wrexham this summer.
But it is the view of The Wrexham Insider that Wrexham should rival an EFL club for a Championship star instead.
Whoever Parkinson signs, though, will have a lot to prove when playing alongside club legend Mullin.
