Wrexham are rapidly becoming one of the most recognisable names in world football.
It sounds strange that a club who were struggling in the National League just five years ago are now one of the most popular clubs around the globe but such is the transformation of Wrexham.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have propelled the club into the attentions of the world both on and off the pitch.
As Phil Parkinson prepares for Wrexham’s season opener v Southampton in the Red Dragons’ first game in the Championship for 43 years, Reynolds in particular will surely be relaxed knowing he has solved one problem that plagued him at the start of his reign.

Ryan Reynolds used to lose sleep over how to raise Wrexham’s profile
Speaking on season 1, episode 14 of the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary series, Reynolds discussed how he would ‘lose sleep’ over ways to raise the profile of the club.
Reynolds stated: “I’m addicted to building things and growing things, like strategically thinking about how we can move the ball forward.
“I lie awake at night for hours just thinking about how we can better centre this club on the world stage and grow the football club into something that utterly sustains itself. That’s the sort of dream I have for Wrexham.”

Premier League clubs are envious of Wrexham in terms of their popularity in the North American market and their rise up the football pyramid will only serve to enhance that growth.
Season five of the documentary series at the club has already been commissioned and Wrexham’s financial improvement has been thanks to the commercial revenue generated by the programme.
How can Wrexham raise their profile further?
One thing we can be sure of when it comes to Wrexham’s owners, they will not stop until they reach their ultimate goal of the Premier League.
McElhenney has dismissed the idea of ‘consolidation’ next season but with commercial profits up and Wrexham in their highest division since 1982, the duo now have to think about the next step.
Wrexham are yet to sign a major overseas player and that could change this summer with a number of players linked to the club.

Ryan Teague is of interest to Wrexham, whilst centre forward Sunusi Ibrahim is also being tracked from MLS side CF Montreal.
A big name signing from overseas could open a whole new fanbase for the Red Dragons and go alongside their continued development on the Racecourse Ground to keep the club progressing.
