Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson has plenty to think about in this January transfer window, including thoughts on potential loan returns.
The January transfer window is almost two weeks old and Wrexham are yet to get moving.
Fans entered the window with big hopes and expectations but it has been slow going up to this point.
Wrexham are chasing a new striker this month and we have seen a whole host of names linked with moves to the STōK Cae Ras.
Phil Parkinson likes to leave his business late in January though and Wrexham fans may need to remain patient as the window goes on.
Wrexham will have had more than a week without a game by the time Parkinson leads his side out against Shrewsbury Town on Thursday though, with fans hoping for some progress in the coming days.

Halifax Town boss on Wrexham loanee
Parkinson isn’t just weighing up potential signings though.
The Wrexham boss is also assessing players loaned out this season with recall options on some of those players.
Sam Dalby’s Wrexham future is under the microscope after finding some red-hot goalscoring form for Dundee United.
Then there is Billy Waters, who joined Halifax Town on loan on transfer deadline day.
Waters excelled for Halifax back in the 2021-22 season and Wrexham were happy for him to head back there.
In fact, Wrexham salvaged Waters’ late return to Halifax with the deal seemingly collapsing before new efforts were made.
Waters has been praised by Chris Millington with the Halifax boss pleased with his impact earlier this season.
Millington has now commented on Waters’ future with his loan spell set to expire in just a matter of days.
Speaking to the Halifax Courier, Millington noted that Waters is still considered as being available to face Gateshead on Tuesday.
Millington hopes that Waters stays and believes that is the best step for him, but will wait to see Wrexham’s plans.
“He’s still available for us until Tuesday so he’ll be involved in the matchday squad against Gateshead and after that, we’ll see where Wrexham are up to,” said Millington.
“We’d really like him to stay. My expectation is that unless Billy’s got something on the table which is incredibly attractive and really benefits his medium to long term future, I think he’d want to stay with us and help us push for a play-off place and potentially promotion because he’s got a real soft spot for Halifax Town, he wants us to do well and he wants to be part of it,” he added.

Billy Waters surely won’t play again for Wrexham
Halifax will have to thrash out a loan extension with Wrexham or chase a permanent deal for Waters’ signature.
If not, we would imagine that Wrexham will work to find Waters another club elsewhere.
The 30-year-old has been one of very few misfires in the transfer market for Wrexham in the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds era.
Waters has played just eight competitive games for Wrexham with only four coming in the league.
The truth is that Waters has just never got going in a Wrexham shirt and if he didn’t have a key role to play in League Two, he certainly won’t in League One.
Waters is out of contract this summer and we would expect him to move on, with the forward almost certainly having already played his final game for Wrexham.
