Wrexham have been handed a shock ranking by OPTA supercomputer, having ranked above one European giant.

The Red Dragons have undergone a meteoric rise under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, both on-and-off the pitch.

Wrexham’s treble promotion under Phil Parkinson now finds them in the Championship, where they continue to prosper as a worldwide phenomenon.

There is no sign of them stopping there either, with Rob and Ryan sanctioning a flurry of transfer activity as they soon hope to take Wrexham to the Premier League.

As a result of the stunning growth overseen by Rob and Ryan at the North Wales club, they have shot up the OPTA Analyst supercomputer rankings, having now charted above many big clubs, including one European giant.

Wrexham above Besiktas and others in supercomputer world rankings

The OPTA Analyst supercomputer currently predicts survival for Wrexham this season in the Championship, and such a feat means that they find themselves in a respectable position in the world rankings.

Over 10,000 men’s clubs have been given a score from 100 to 0 based on a variety of components, whether it is the size and stature of the club or how they are performing.

As a result, Wrexham ranked 268th in the world, notably just three places behind MLS side LA Galaxy and 10 behind New York City.

Fellow promoted League One side, Birmingham City, who have sparked a mini rivalry with Wrexham in recent times, also sit above the Red Dragons in 217th.

However, Wrexham find themselves above Atlético Miniero (297th), Besiktas (308th), and Chicago Fire (300th), most notably.

Supercomputer puts Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s impact into perspective

As Wrexham shot up from the National League and guided through the lower EFL divisions, they now find themselves with the opportunity to reach the Premier League in the near future.

It is a stunning statement to make, given where Wrexham were at before Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s takeover of the club.

To put it into perspective, the National League’s current highest-ranked side is York City, who find themselves 1913 in the world, and that is over 200 places ahead of the second-ranked side, Forest Green Rovers.

Wrexham were by no means top of the tree for National League clubs before Rob and Ryan took over, so for them to now be 268th in the world is astonishing, and really puts their brilliant efforts into perspective.
