Wrexham owner Ryan Reynolds has been pictured alongside one star player after his latest Instagram post.

Wrexham’s off-season period is underway after promotion to the Championship was confirmed.

However, Phil Parkinson, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney won’t be resting with a crucial Championship campaign awaiting the Dragons.

Several bold decisions will await the board with regard to recruitment and potential outgoings, with several players’ departures already being announced.

Steven Fletcher has notably been released, whilst Paul Mullin’s future at Wrexham is in doubt, with Wigan Athletic interested in obtaining the services of the Dragons star.

One other player whose future is in doubt is Ollie Palmer; however it would seem to be the case after Reynolds’ most recent Instagram post.

Ryan Reynolds spends time with Wrexham star Ollie Palmer in New York in latest Instagram post

Since acquiring the club back in 2021, Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds has struck up several friendships with the players, including striker Ollie Palmer, who he has shown around New York.

Reynolds took to Instagram to post a photo of himself and Palmer, with the caption saying: “The one and only Ollie Palmer in NYC and the wind in his sail that she also made, Caitlin Palmer.”

Palmer has previously been very complimentary towards Reynolds and McElhenney, as he previously said: “The biggest compliment I can give them is that they make themselves relatable. They’re, it’s like they’re one of the boys you know and they spend a lot of time with us outside of football as well.”

It isn’t the first time that Palmer has been photographed with one of Wrexham’s owners, having also shared a moment that McElhenney posted on social media.

Wrexham promotion could significantly hinder Ollie Palmer’s future at the club

This season, Palmer’s game-time has been rather limited, having not been handed a single appearance since February 1st.

It would be unlikely, because of Palmer’s struggles at League One level this season, that he would play a significant role in the Championship.

With Mullin potentially facing the chop, it wouldn’t be surprising if Palmer isn’t also at the forefront of Phil Parkinson’s plans for the campaign. For Wrexham, now is not the time to be sentimental; an upgrade in strikers will be needed, and that may unfortunately leave Palmer surplus to requirements.
