Wrexham have had an excellent start to the 2024/25 League One campaign but some players have fared better than others.

The Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds-owned club secured promotion to League One for the first time in their history last season.

Prior to the campaign getting underway, Wrexham had a very small chance of getting promoted, with the Red Dragons finishing in the top two in just 0.02% of 10,000 simulations conducted by Opta.

However, the Welsh outfit have more than exceeded expectations in the early stages of 2024/25, currently sitting second in the division.

Wrexham beat Northampton Town 4-1 in their previous League One outing, with several players impressing.

One of the standout performers for the club so far this campaign has been midfielder George Dobson.

Dobson was backed to win Wrexham Player of the Season by one journalist in September but at present, he is not one of Wrexham’s highest-rated players in 2024/25.

Max Cleworth and Elliot Lee are highest-rated Wrexham players this season

With the international break now coming to a close, we have taken a look at who the highest and lowest-rated Wrexham stars are from their 10 League One games so far this season.

Some players have only been afforded one or two appearances so to keep it fair, we are only looking at players who have featured for at least 300 minutes in the league.

And despite Dobson’s excellent start, WhoScored have him down as the sixth-highest-rated Wrexham star in 2024/25 (7.12)

Top spot is taken by Max Cleworth with a rating of 7.32, which is not too surprising given the form he was in prior to his recent injury.

McElhenney and Reynolds have been warned they are in danger of losing Cleworth to a top club in the future but for now, he is dominating in League One.

Elliot Lee, who has four goals and one assist to his name, then takes second place with a rating of 7.23.

Thomas O’Connor and Andy Cannon are lowest-rated Wrexham players in 2024/25

At the other end of the scale, Thomas O’Connor and Andy Cannon are the lowest-rated Wrexham stars who have played at least 300 League One minutes.

Cannon has a rating of 6.60 while O’Connor is not too far in front with a rating of 6.75.

O’Connor struggled for Wrexham versus Stevenage prior to the October international break and is facing a battle to keep his starting berth ahead of summer signing Lewis Brunt.

Cannon has also struggled at times but is likely to keep his place in the eleven due to the somewhat limited quality depth in Wrexham’s midfield.
