Wrexham fans don’t forget those who served them on the way up, and two former players who were integral in that journey have just reunited as they look for new clubs.
With Wrexham now preparing for life in the Championship, it’s easy for outsiders to overlook the fact that so many hard-working, talented players have been a part of this journey so far.
Through the National League and League Two, various players were integral in the Wrexham squad before having to move on in search of first-team opportunities as the Red Dragons evolved.
It’s never easy to say farewell to those loyal players from the past, but at least we can enjoy the fact that two of them have joined forces this summer.

Anthony Forde and Jordan Davies join PFA free agent squad
Turns out, Anthony Forde and Jordan Davies have linked up with the PFA’s free agent side for the latest week of training and fixtures.
The PFA assembles a team of players who are without a club throughout the summer and week by week helps them find a new home.
They’re joined this week by the likes of Paul Dummett, Angus Gunn, Patrick Bauer, and Ryan Tunnicliffe. Whether this will lead to a new club for either of the former Wrexham stars remains to be seen, but at least they’re putting themselves in the shop window.
Davies was on loan at Grimsby Town last season, and while things looked promising, it just didn’t quite work out for him there, largely due to injuries. Meanwhile, Forde joined Burton Albion earlier this year on a short-term deal.

Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds loved both players
Davies was, and still is, Wrexham through and through, having developed through the club’s academy. The midfielder was a crucial cog in those early days of Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds’ tenure, but struggled massively with injuries.
As he fell down the pecking order, Davies became a peripheral figure and was among the Wrexham players released this summer.
He shared a special message with Rob and Ryan upon departing, praising the “unbelievable achievements” since they arrived at the club.
When Forde left Wrexham in February, Reynolds was pretty emotional and sent him a heartfelt message to wish him luck. The pair had a lovely reunion when Burton played Wrexham not long after.
