Wrexham owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are looking to sell a £350m stake in the club, and they won’t be short of options
The Red Dragons are seeking yet further investment in the club as they gear up for the Championship.
The Allyn family invested in Wrexham at the back end of 2024, and they have a net worth of over £1bn.
However, it has now emerged this week that Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney want to sell a £350m stake in the club to help strengthen the Welsh side for their journey into the Championship.
The report did mention that it was not clear if Rob and Ryan could convince potential new investors to buy in at such a high sum.
But previous comments made by Humphrey Ker suggest the Hollywood pair will not be short of options when it comes to landing a fresh Wrexham investor.

What billionaires have already told Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney
Ker was discussing Wrexham’s rise to the Championship on the High Performance podcast last month.
When doing so, he was asked about the Dragons eventually reaching the Premier League.
Ker went on to reveal that ‘dozens and dozens’ of billionaires have been in touch with Reynolds and McElhenney since they bought the club to tell them they want to invest.
He said: “I think it’s very possible [reaching the Premier League], but I think that if you know we build our training ground, and we build our stand and we renovate the stadium and we get ourselves up to like we’ve got a 20,000-seat modernish stadium that retains the charm, and we can make that jump.
“Then I think what happens is that Rob and Ryan go into their Rolodex and call up one of the dozens and dozens of people who’ve got in touch within the last four years and been like ‘hi I’m a multi, multi, multi billionaire, I want to join in on this with you’.
“They would stay on, remain in their roles, but we would have someone who could help because basically getting out of the Championship to the Premier League, you’re just lighting money.”

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s net worth
While the duo have been able to help make Wrexham one of the most financially viable teams in the lower leagues, if they want to reach the Premier League, a lot of money needs to be spent.
Reynolds and McElhenney’s net worth is thought to be around the $400 million mark.
While that is obviously an insane number, it pales in comparison to a lot of Championship teams.
More money obviously doesn’t guarantee more success, but it would certainly help the club in their ultimate goal of reaching the top flight.
