Paul Mullin has gotten Wrexham fans all emotional after his latest comments in an episode of Welcome to Wrexham.
Paul Mullin has gone from star striker to Wrexham outcast in the last year. The 30-year-old played just 26 times in League One last time round, scoring three times as Phil Parkinson handed him just one appearance from the end of January.
Speaking recently, Parkinson explained how Mullin fell out of favour at Wrexham, reinforcing comments the Wrexham boss made earlier in the year.
But Mullin has given his side of the story now. Speaking on Welcome to Wrexham, Mullin said he doesn’t know why Parkinson lost trust in him, saying:

Paul Mullin’s one Wrexham wish is revealed
In the same episode, Mullin revealed his one wish at Wrexham, which is to simply play for the club in the Championship next season.
Mullin explained: “Just to play one game in the Championship at Wrexham would be worth absolutely everything, be the icing on the cake for this story, who knows where it could end. I’ve enjoyed absolutely every minute here.”
Needless to say, there’s a lot of emotional Wrexham fans on social media reacting to Mullin’s comments. But many think the end has come for Mullin.
Wrexham fans think time is over for Paul Mullin
Posting on social media, many fans sympathised with Mullin after his fall from grace at the club. But many also suggested that the club needs better in the Championship next season, highlighting the brutality that comes with the club’s rapid rise.
One Wrexham fan posted: “So sad to watch, the man loves the club and it’s such a shame. I wish he could stay but I don’t think it’s going to happen.”
Similar comments read: “That’s so hard to watch. But unfortunately, he’s right. I think we’re kidding ourselves if we think he plays next year. He would need an exceptional pre-season to be considered,” and also: “It’s one of them where I love the man for what he’s done it’s just a shame football moves so fast meaning only a select few players can keep up in the journey.”
Another Wrexham fan added: “He’s said himself he’s finally back to full fitness and not in pain this episode. It’s a ruthless business but I really hope he gets a solid pre-season under him.”
And this fan wrote: “Parky is employed to get us to the Premiership. Unfortunately for Mullin and [Ollie] Palmer, they don’t fit in Parky’s plans. Great servants for the club, but we have to move on.”
The summer transfer window re-opens on June 16th, and from there we’ll find out what comes of Mullin this summer.
