Wrexham returned to League One action on Saturday afternoon against Bolton Wanderers.
The Red Dragons went into the weekend looking to bounce back from their EFL Trophy heartbreak on Tuesday.
Wrexham lost to Peterborough United on penalties after initially taking a two-goal lead in the match.
The priority for Phil Parkinson and co. was always promotion from League One, however, and they had a tough meeting against Bolton Wanderers to contend with on March 1st.
Bolton have an excellent record against Wrexham and after an upturn in form, are making a push into the play-offs.
In turn, it was imperative that Parkinson selected a strong squad for the meeting with the Wanderers.
The manager made a number of changes to his team over the weekend, including dropping Paul Mullin out of the matchday squad altogether.

Wrexham fans react after Paul Mullin dropped vs Bolton
Mullin has struggled for minutes since the arrivals of Jay Rodriguez and Sam Smith but did make a return off the bench in midweek.
However, he was once again omitted against Bolton – a decision that left Wrexham fans somewhat puzzled.
One fan wrote: “Has Mullin been injured or just dropped the past few league games?”
A second questioned: “What happened to Ollie Palmer and Paul Mullin?”
“No Mullin in the squad.. Twitter is going to crash,” another Wrexham fan joked.
The 30-year-old being left out of another squad even led one fan to speculate something has happened between the number nine and Parkinson: “Something’s definitely happened between Mullin and Parkinson.”
A fifth support stated: “No place for mull dog?? Time’s running out, pal.”
While another suggested: “Mullin not even on the bench, looks like he’s on the naughty step for missing his penalty!”
What does the future hold for Paul Mullin at Wrexham
The striker has now been left out of four of Parkinson’s last five League One matchday squads and did not make it off the bench against Mansfield Town.
Mullin did have a shin injury but has already recovered from that, yet he still isn’t being selected.
Journalist Rich Fay discussed the Wrexham striker’s game time recently and seemed to hint that he thinks the forward will not see much action in the remainder of 2024/25.
He said: “Mullin now, given we are reaching the end game of the season, we don’t have Vertu Trophy, we do only have League One fixtures now, there is a sole focus for Wrexham.
“Paul Mullin misses the penalty kick. How many more kicks do you think he gets in a Wrexham shirt? I think he’s in a battle just to make the bench every week.”
Meanwhile, Sky Sports pundit Geroge Elek recently suggested Mullin’s Wrexham stint is coming to an end.
He stated: “When you look at their attacking talent, Steven Fletcher has done okay in moments, Marriott is okay when he’s fit, which isn’t that often.
“It feels like the Paul Mullin, Wrexham story [is coming to an end]. Maybe they have outgrown him now.”
The striker is under contract until 2027, but what the future holds for him is not clear at this stage.
