Wrexham legend Ollie Palmer featured as Swindon Town were beaten by Accrington Stanley on Saturday.

After three and a half fruitful years, Wrexham terminated Palmer’s contract in late August.

The 33-year-old had fallen out of favour under Phil Parkinson and was deemed surplus to requirements.

Since his exit, Palmer has shone for Swindon Town and was one of their better performers over the weekend.

How Ollie Palmer fared as Swindon Town beaten 4-0 by Accrington Stanley

Ian Holloway’s side have been in prolific form during the early stages of 2025/26.

They began the weekend second in League Two and two points adrift of top spot, with some key goals from the Red Dragons legend helping their run.

Palmer has bettered his Wrexham tally from last season after impressing during his brief time in the South West.

He was once again solid on Saturday but could do little to prevent Accrington Stanley scoring a staggering four goals.

Palmer came closest to producing a reply for the home side, clattering an effort off the woodwork, but it wasn’t to be.

Still, the former Wrexham man’s stats on the day were solid, with Sofascore making him the highest-rated Swindon player on the day.

Wrexham fans will see Ollie Palmer again

Palmer scored 44 and assisted six during his time at the Racecourse Ground, playing a key role in their rise from the National League to League One.

He has, unlike fellow club hero Paul Mullin, left permanently, but fans will be able to see the beloved striker again next year.

Palmer will feature in Welcome to Wrexham Season 5 when it airs after 2025/26, with the Englishman confirming the documentary crew are still filming his life at Swindon.

He said: “Come to Swindon they said. Great because then the documentary has been at the Swindon games and they’ve been here [podcast studio].

“So it’s great exposure, it’s great for everyone, and Ryan knows that, and Rob knows that, and they want to help. But no, it’s been great to get to know them, it’s been a whirlwind, really.”
