George Dobson has been dicussing what he is hoping to finally end when Wrexham’s 2024/25 season draws to a close.
George Dobson arrived at the Racecourse Ground on a free transfer from Charlton Athletic during the most recent summer window.
The midfielder became an instant hit at Wrexham, with Eoghan O’Connel telling fans what to expect from Dobson before he’d even kicked a ball – the defender was right.
The ex-Charlton ace quickly cemented himself in Phil Parkinson’s three-man midfield and has largely kept his starting berth throughout 2024/25.
Dobson was tipped to win Wrexham Player of the Season back in September and has continued to shine on a consistent basis.
Now, he’s been speaking about finally putting to bed his own, unwanted, personal record.

George Dobson has spent nine years in League One
Dobson began his playing career on the books of Premier League powerhouse Arsenal.
After departing the Gunners for West Ham United as a youngster, he went on to have spells with the likes of Walsall, Sunderland, AFC Wimbeldon and, of course, Charlton.
However, the 27-year-old has never played higher than League One, notching 301 appearances in the competition to date.
Now, as per Leader Live, Dobson has been discussing his nine-season stint in the third tier, admitting he would ‘love’ to get promoted.
He said: “I have been around in League One, this must be my ninth year now.
“I have played a lot of games at this level so I would love to be part of a promotion team.
“I will just do my best to try and help the team and make that happen.”

George Dobson shares what will help Wrexham win promotion
Ahead of Wrexham’s game with Burton Albion, it is Parkinson’s men who sit in the second automatic promotion place.
But Wycombe Wanderers are doing their best to beat the Red Dragons to second place and will overtake them if they win their game in hand.
However, while admitting ‘anything can happen’ in football, Dobson stated that having players who have already won promotion will help Wrexham.
He said: “A lot of players have been there and done it which, as an outsider looking in, will say that helps.
“But anything can happen in football, that is why it is such a wonderful game.
“We use that to our advantage a little bit but we know that unless you turn up and perform now, it doesn’t matter if you have been there and done it before – you have got to do it again.”
