Wrexham’s catalogue of new signings this summer under Phil Parkinson have returned differing levels of success, as two new arrivals rank as the highest and lowest performing Red Dragons players.
This summer saw Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac invest in the first-team squad as it prepares for life in the Championship.
After three successive promotions under Phil Parkinson, which has seen Wrexham rise from the National League to the Championship, they found themselves with the necessity of adding vast experience and quality to their ranks in order to compete in the second tier.
Wrexham have made 10 signings this summer, with the notable arrivals including Welsh internationals Kieffer Moore, Nathan Broadhead and Danny Ward, as well as the likes of Lewis O’Brien from Nottingham Forest and Liberato Cacace.
The majority of recent arrivals have left a positive mark, including one who has proven Wrexham fans wrong with his performances.

Danny Ward proves Wrexham fans wrong after topping the player rating chart
The Red Dragons signed Danny Ward this summer following his departure from Leicester City, and whilst Wrexham fans have targeted him as a weakness, he has been named as the club’s highest performer, according to SofaScore.
Ward leads the pack with an average rating of 7.57 in the Championship, which includes a phenomenal debut against Southampton.
Since the Saints’ defeat, Wrexham fans have called for Ward to be dropped, but if his Red Dragons debut was anything to go by, hopefully, he can continue to make a difference in between the sticks.
Despite the positive signs from Ward, Phil Parkinson has been left with the dilemma of having to drop young shot-stopper Arthur Okonkwo as a result.
As surprising as it is to see Ward accumulate the highest average rating so far this season, the lowest is equally unexpected.

Phil Parkinson expects more from Nathan Broadhead as Welshman notches lowest rating
Following his two performances for the Red Dragons so far this season, Nathan Broadhead currently ranks as Wrexham’s lowest-performing player.
With an average rating of 6.5 in the defeat to West Brom, followed by the draw against Sheffield Wednesday, it is safe to say that Broadhead is yet to make a significant difference in the Championship.
For the sizeable amount Broadhead has arrived at the Racecourse Ground for, Wrexham fans may have expected more from him up to this point.
Last time out in the Championship, he was overshadowed by the quality of Kieffer Moore (Wrexham’s second-ranked player), who bagged two goals in the first half against Sheffield Wednesday.
A resurgence will be expected of Broadhead by Phil Parkinson soon, especially with the necessity to fill in for the injured Josh Windass.
