Wrexham have brought in another free agent signing but Phil Parkinson isn’t relenting in his pursuit of new signings.
Wrexham beat Burton Albion 1-0 on Saturday afternoon, picking up a priceless win on the road.
Wrexham fans praised Elliot Lee for his winning goal as his corner kick flew all the way into the net.
Burton Albion’s Udoka Godwin-Malife cursed Lee’s ‘freakish’ goal but Wrexham won’t care – it’s another three points for the tally.
It isn’t all rosy for Wrexham though as Phil Parkinson continues to wrestle with goalkeeping issues.
Wrexham goalkeeping state of play
Arthur Okonkwo picked up a wrist injury in November and isn’t expected to return until early 2025.
Callum Burton was impressive in Okonkwo’s absence and Wrexham seemed to be in safe hands.
Burton has sufferd a thigh injury and Parkinson fears Burton’s season will now be over, leaving Mark Howard to start against Burton Albion.
Free agent Brad Foster has signed for Wrexham having seemingly impressed in training over recent weeks.
Parkinson still wants another Wrexham signing though and is battling the EFL over whether Wrexham can make an emergency loan signing between the sticks.
That situation hasn’t been resolved yet but we looked at some fringe Championship goalkeepers who may be hoping for a call from Wrexham in order to compete for first-team action over the festive period…

Timothee Lo-Tutala
Hull City have strong goalkeeping options given that they have Ivor Pandur and Anthony Racioppi battling it out for the number one jersey.
Carl Rushworth would be in the mix too but he currently has an injury.
Timothee Lo-Tutala is therefore down the pecking order and hasn’t even been on the bench for a first-team game this season.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a strong loan spell at Doncaster Rovers last season and the next step for him may be a League One loan.
Wrexham fans may remember Lo-Tutala for a frankly ridiculous save to deny Steven Fletcher in injury time as Doncaster beat Wrexham 1-0 in April.
Lo-Tutala would fit the bill for Wrexham given his prior experience in League Two and

Harvey Cartwright
Another Hull goalkeeper, Cartwright is in the same boat as Lo-Tutala in terms of being on the fringes.
Cartwright spent last season with Grimsby Town but wasn’t quite as impressive as Lo-Tutala at Doncaster.
The 22-year-old needs another loan opportunity with his development stalling at Hull and a brief stint at Wrexham may appeal.
Cartwright won three Young Player of the Year award at Grimsby last season and is similar to Lo-Tutala in that a League One move may be the next step after his League Two spell.

Connal Trueman
Millwall stopper Trueman is no stranger to the emergency loan situation.
Trueman has been on emergency loans to Crawley Town not once but twice this season to help cover their problems.
The 28-year-old impressed with Crawley and Millwall’s willingness to loan him out twice means Wrexham would surely stand a chance of a deal.
One thing to factor in is that Millwall may not want Trueman to have played for two clubs before January, shutting off a third with a permanent exit.
Trueman hasn’t played a single game for Millwall since joining in 2022, so there is little chance of him playing for the Lions.
This situation is now all in the hands of the EFL but whilst Parkinson fights for a new signing, the rules suggest that Wrexham can’t sign a loan player unless Howard picks up an injury too – which may leave the Wrexham boss incredibly frustrated.
