Wrexham’s progression in all facets has been remarkable in recent years.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have taken Wrexham to the second tier of English football for the first time since 1982 with the help of the excellent Phil Parkinson at the helm.
Reynolds and McElhenney have further Wrexham ambitions after both dismissed the idea of ‘consolidating’ in the Championship next season.
Wrexham’s ultimate goal is to reach the Premier League and after their rapid rise in the last four years, nobody would dismiss their chances.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s Wrexham improvement
The Wrexham owners came into this adventure with a limited knowledge of football as a sport and this was highlighted during their first matchday experience away at Maidenhead in October 2021.
‘Welcome to Wrexham’ season 1, episode 8 documented Reynolds and McElhenney’s first game and they had to have some guidance through the match from Humphrey Ker and Shaun Harvey.
Reynolds initially sat down in the stand and asked: “Which team is Wrexham?” before also questioning whether playing downhill was an advantage in the game.
Meanwhile, McElhenney asked: “How do they determine where the ball is thrown in from, is it just the point of exit?” Before also enquiring whether the referee made the decision on throw-ins.
It is in stark contrast to their knowledge of the game in the present day, where both are able to insightfully analyse their team’s performances and needs moving forward.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s commitment to Wrexham cannot be questioned
Reynolds has hit back at Wrexham ‘boredom’ remarks from those who believe he and McElhenney will sell the club once the romance has faded.
The fact is, the Wrexham owners have built something that is only set to become stronger in terms of popularity and success.
Billionaires want to invest in Wrexham according to Ker and Reynolds and McElhenney will want to continue the journey they started.
Improving their knowledge of the game is just one way in which they have proven their commitment to the Red Dragons, there are plans for better infrastructure around the club and they have brought a community well and truly together.
