Wrexham are continuing to build their 25-man squad with the Championship opener less than three weeks away,
Wrexham will face Groningen in a pre-season friendly before their opening game with Southampton and it will give an opportunity for several new faces to get some minutes under their belts.
Josh Windass has agreed a three-year contract at Wrexham after passing his medical ahead of a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday.
Wrexham are interested in signing Sivert Mannsverk from Ajax following a successful loan spell at Cardiff City last season. Wrexham Insider has assessed the impact the signing would have on the current squad.

Winners from a potential Sivert Mannsverk transfer to Wrexham
Phil Parkinson
Phil Parkinson is desperate to silence any doubters over his ability to manage in the second tier of English football but knows only too well that his squad needs strengthening.
Central midfield is a priority for the Red Dragons and after already having secured George Thomason from Bolton, Mannsverk would add further depth.
The Ajax midfielder likes to sit in front of the back four and can read the game with his intelligence, whilst having the technical ability you would expect from playing in Holland.
At just 23, it would be another signing building for Wrexham’s long-term future and enable Parkinson to gain control in midfield.
George Thomason
George Thomason is excited to sign for Wrexham but will also be pleased to see the club interested in another midfielder.
Thomason is inexperienced at Championship level and could do with the pressure easing off his shoulders after coming in as the Red Dragons’ main midfield signing so far.
Mannsverk would complement Thomason’s game in midfield as the former Bolton man’s energy and tenacity would blend well with the calm and composed nature of the Norwegian.
It has all the makings of an excellent midfield partnership for Wrexham and in such a vital area of the pitch.

Losers from a potential Sivert Mannsverk transfer to Wrexham
George Dobson
George Dobson is desperate to be given a chance to prove he can deliver at Championship level after never making the grade out of League One so far in his career.
Dobson was exceptional for Parkinson last season and his range of passing improved drastically as the campaign went on.
Mannsverk and Thomason’s arrival means there would be plenty of competition for places in the centre of the park and the 27-year-old would face a battle to become a regular.
Matty James
Matty James is another player whose importance for Wrexham increased game by game last season, he was magnificent in the promotion run-in.
At 34, there may be some concerns over his ability to play three games a week in the second tier and Mannsverk is a similar player to the former Leicester City man.
His experience will be invaluable next campaign but James might start to wonder whether that leadership is going to come on the pitch or more often within the dressing room environment.

George Evans
George Evans struggled for game time last season due to injury but you cannot help thinking that the potential arrival of Mannsverk would spell the end of his Wrexham career.
He was already behind the likes of James and Dobson in the pecking order and with the Ajax man entering the fold too, his chances of first-team football are diminishing.
Parkinson can only name a 25-man squad for the Championship campaign and it is looking increasingly likely Evans will not be a part of that.
A move away from the Racecourse Ground would be the most likely scenario for Evans.
