Now that Wrexham are in the Championship, it seems obvious there needs to be a change in their transfer policy.
The Red Dragons can officially begin making new signings on June 1 when the summer transfer window opens.
Phil Parkinson sent a message to Wrexham fans over potential arrivals, urging patience.
Right now, there appear to be two strategies that the club are pursuing going into the upcoming window.
Firstly, as has been a common theme since Parkinson became manager in 2021, veteran players with heaps of experience are being targeted.
Among those is Aaron Cresswell, who Wrexham like alongside Premier League club Leeds United.
Not every asset arriving in Wales this summer is expected to be 30 or above, however.
Parkinson has said this week that Wrexham are looking at Premier League loan moves going into the summer.
But there is another avenue Wrexham need to explore for the first time under Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Wrexham yet to sign European player under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds
As is to be expected, given they were in the National League just two years ago, Wrexham’s transfer policy has been focused on the UK and Ireland.
In fact, since Rob and Ryan took over, the Welsh outfit have not signed a player who wasn’t already based in the UK or Ireland.
That hasn’t been a problem so far but now they are in the Championship, there is a whole new pool of players available to the club.
Rivals Birmingham City are already taking advantage of the European market, signing a star from Germany to a pre-contract agreement earlier in 2025.
Meanwhile, it is common practice for Championship clubs, especially given the price of most Premier League players, to shop in Europe for potential budget options.
Many clubs, such as Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford, have used this policy to great effect to reach the top flight.
There is also plenty of money to be made with potential European bargains, with Middlesbrough making near £19m profit on Emmanuel Latte Lath in January when he moved to Atalanta United after originally arriving in England from Italy in 2023.

Wrexham have one non-UK and Ireland transfer target
It might not be Europe, but Wrexham have been linked with one player outside of the continent this month already.
Montreal forward Sunusi Ibrahim is of interest to the club after falling out of favour with the MLS outfit this season.
It’s perhaps not the best link, though, with Wrexham fans largely impressed with Ibrahim after rumours of a move emerged earlier this week.
