Departing Wrexham hero Ollie Palmer knew immediately that he would love his time at the Racecourse Ground after what he first heard about Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac when he joined.
Wrexham legend Ollie Palmer has left the club after three-and-a-half years, having sealed a move to League Two side Swindon Town.
The Red Dragons striker enjoyed an incredible spell at the Racecourse Ground, where he played an important role in Wrexham’s three successive promotions, taking the club from the National League to the Championship.
Palmer’s move away from North Wales has been hit with a wave of reaction, with Elliot Lee wishing the striker the best, whilst James McClean also sent a message after his departure.
The reaction to Palmer’s Wrexham departure shows the impact he had at the club from the moment he arrived through the doors, and it was clear that he would love his time at the Racecourse Ground upon his first impressions of Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac.

Ollie Palmer’s first impressions of Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac after signing for Wrexham
Wrexham signed Ollie Palmer in January 2022 as Phil Parkinson pushed for promotion from the National League in his first season.
The signing of Palmer was a true statement from the club, and could not have been possible without the influence of Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac.
When first joining the club, via Leader Live, Palmer said: “We have some really famous co-chairmen, and they have already done some amazing things with the Football Club. It’s just a really good opportunity for me – something to get my teeth into, something new.
“Phil Parkinson explained everything to me, and it was something that got me really excited.”
Since then, Palmer became very close to Reynolds and Mac, and that was reflected when the Wrexham owners sent their farewell messages to the striker.

Where Ollie Palmer ranks in Wrexham’s top scorer list
Ollie Palmer was brought to Wrexham to score goals, and in his first few seasons, he did exactly that.
Alongside Paul Mullin up front, the pair were dangerous at National League level, making it a habit to tear up defences and score bags of goals.
His partner in crime, Mullin, managed a total of 110 goals at Wrexham, which places him 7th in the list of Red Dragons top scorers, 108 goals behind Tommy Bamford. Palmer finds himself lower down in the list, coming 38th after his 46 goals in all competitions.
Palmer offered far more than goalscoring product, though, from his incredible partnership with Mullin, to the impact he had in the dressing room, the striker will be sorely missed in North Wales.
