Wrexham are preparing for life after Ollie Palmer as they travel to Millwall in their latest Championship test.
Wrexham confirmed Palmer’s departure to Swindon and he is set to make his debut for his new side as they face Crewe Alexandra in their League Two clash.
Ryan Reynolds sent a heartfelt message to Palmer following his exit and fellow owner Rob McElhenney has also expressed his sadness at the move.
Palmer’s message to Wrexham fans has shown his genuine love for the club and he is now set to face the club this season that made him realise he had made the right decision in moving to North Wales back in 2022.

Ollie Palmer knew signing for Wrexham was right decision after National League clash with Grimsby Town
Speaking on season one episode twelve of the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary series, Palmer revealed the moment he knew he had made the right decision to sign for the club.
The striker was brought to the Racecourse by Phil Parkinson in January 2022 to add a focal point to his attack and was immediately thrust into action against Grimsby Town.
It was this game that made Palmer realise he had made the right career choice after dropping down into the National League from League One at the time.
Palmer stated: “My first league game against Grimsby. I hadn’t met one player. I met the manager and that was it, walked into the changing room said hello and went out onto the pitch with them.
“People think I was just going to drop down to this level and score thousands of goals, it’s still a good league and still the hardest league in the country to get out of without a doubt.
“I was still at the time thinking ‘have I done the right thing for my career?’ And my family, I was having a good season in League One. That night kind of secured for me that I had.”
Phil Parkinson may now sought Ollie Palmer replacement before transfer deadline
Although Parkinson has a wealth of attacking options, he has now lost a physical presence up top that he likes to play with.
Kieffer Moore is Wrexham’s first-choice striker currently but should he get injured, the Red Dragons don’t have another player with that similar threat in the air.

Parkinson has admitted the club are ‘managing’ Moore following a recent ankle injury and the manager may dip into the market for another target man before the deadline.
Ryan Hardie and Sam Smith are players that enjoy running in behind defences and somebody like Patrick Bamford available on a free could be tempting in the remaining days of the window.
