Wrexham are set to say goodbye to striker Ollie Palmer, as he nears a move to join League Two side Swindon Town.
This has been a difficult summer in terms of saying goodbye to popular Wrexham players.
Paul Mullin joined Wigan Athletic, Steven Fletcher was surprisingly released, and Mark Howard departed on a free transfer.
Another tough departure is now imminent, with reports suggesting that Ollie Palmer is set to join Swindon Town.
Palmer has been a personal favourite during Wrexham’s rise; a fantastic target man and a brilliant character around the squad, as seen on ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.
Phil Parkinson made Palmer available, though, and a departure won’t come as a surprise to most Wrexham supporters.

Ollie Palmer could face Wrexham hero on Swindon Town debut
Palmer is set to join Swindon, with a deal expected to be completed in the next 24 hours.
If Swindon can accelerate the move, Palmer could be in action for his debut against Crewe Alexander this weekend.
As per EFL rules, ‘documents have to be submitted prior to 12 noon on the day prior to the date of the relevant match’, meaning time is running out.
Swindon will hope to have all documentation ready to go before that cut-off point, and Palmer’s debut could come against a Wrexham hero.
Crewe pounced to snap up Louis Moult over the summer, signing the striker on a one-year contract.
Moult has made three appearances for Crewe so far this season, with all of them coming off the bench, totalling 22 minutes of first-team action.
Moult was a fan favourite during his Wrexham days, joining the club alongside boss Kevin Wilkin from Nuneaton Town.
The former Stoke City man only spent one season at the STōK Cae Ras, but racked up 23 goals in 51 games – including a brace in the 2014-15 FA Trophy final.
Moult’s time at Wrexham was short and sweet, as he completed a move to Motherwell, before going on to play for Preston North End, Burton Albion and Dundee United.
Louis Moult still loves Wrexham
Wrexham fans may just have one eye on Crewe against Swindon this weekend, with the potential of Moult v Palmer now on the cards.
Moult and Palmer have both been incredibly popular strikers at Wrexham, admittedly in very, very different eras.
Moult played alongside Sam Dalby at Dundee United last season, and his love for Wrexham became clear.
Dalby admitted that Moult still visits Wrexham ‘quite a lot’, keeping the club close to his heart despite leaving way back in 2015.
“He was telling me that he seen me play down there, because he visits quite a lot,” said Dalby.
Moult is now back in England, and while he may start against Swindon from the bench, he could give Palmer a disappointing start to his Swindon career.
