Wrexham suffered another disappointing result on Saturday, letting slip a two-goal lead against Sheffield Wednesday at the Racecourse.
Phil Parkinson is a frustrated manager once again. His Wrexham side had a 2-0 lead against Sheffield Wednesday, thanks to two Kieffer Moore goals, but Barry Bannan and Bailey Cadamarteri’s second-half goals for the Owls pulled it back.
In the end, Wrexham drew 2-2 against Sheffield Wednesday, putting their first point on the board this season but missing out on all three points.
Wrexham fans have had a lot to say about Parkinson after the game, with many questioning his tactics and his substitutions. But with a week left in the transfer window, Parkinson is looking to do some more business.

Phil Parkinson hints at Wrexham player sales after Sheffield Wednesday
This week, Wrexham have signed Callum Doyle in an £8m deal from Manchester City. He becomes the Dragons’ 10th signing of the summer and it doesn’t look like owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac are going to stop spending the money any time soon.
But there also look set to be some players leaving the Racecourse in the next week. Parkinson has a very bloated squad at the minute and in a bid to balance the books and let any players go who might not get game time this season, Wrexham look set to sell some names. And one of those names is surely Ollie Palmer.
Speaking after the game, Parkinson said: “There’s bits and pieces going on [incomings/outgoings]… We will review this game and have a chat as a staff tomorrow. One or two players may be going and one or two may be coming in.”
What Phil Parkinson has already said about Ollie Palmer leaving Wrexham
Palmer finds himself in a very difficult position at Wrexham. He’s been pushed down the pecking order after a string of attacking signings this summer, but Palmer put in a great performance against Hull City in the Carabao Cup earlier in the month, and then following the injury to Josh Windass, many think that Palmer could still play a role this season.
Parkinson seems to think otherwise, though. Speaking earlier in the month, Parkinson said that he thinks Palmer will leave Wrexham this summer: “So I had a good chat with Ollie Palmer this week. He needs to go and play, he knows that. Ollie has been brilliant for us, a great servant, but he’s ready to go and play.”
Going off Parkinson’s previous comments on Palmer and his latest comments after the Sheffield Wednesday draw, it looks like Palmer could well be one who has moved on before the September 1st transfer deadline, and there are certainly a few other candidates to be moved on to.
