Wrexham are about to break their transfer record once again with a massive move for Nathan Broadhead, and we can exclusively reveal why Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have made this decision.
Despite Wrexham making eight new signings and spending just over £11m already, it seems the Red Dragons are now about to drop a whopping £10m on Nathan Broadhead.
The Ipswich Town man has been linked with a move to Wrexham, where he actually started his career, for a few weeks now.
Progress had stalled due to Ipswich wanting a replacement for Broadhead before they let him go, but Wrexham have bumped up their offer to get the deal over the line sooner rather than later.

Kieffer Moore injury was key to Nathan Broadhead decision
It is thought Broadhead will complete his Wrexham medical today before the move is finalised, and it’s a deal that has sent shockwaves through the league. But why have Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac bankrolled this transfer?
The Wrexham Insider can reveal, thanks to information from our Chief Football Correspondent Graeme Bailey, that it is the injury to Kieffer Moore that was the deciding factor in forcing the Wrexham owners’ hand here.
Phil Parkinson wanted Broadhead anyway, but with fellow new signing Moore potentially out for a while, the board were persuaded to pull the trigger on this bumper deal.

Record-breaking deal for Nathan Broadhead is huge signal of intent for Wrexham
While rival fans think Wrexham are overpaying for Broadhead, there’s no denying that this transfer is a genuine message to the rest of the Championship that the club will not sit back if areas of the squad need work this season.
We’d be surprised if Wrexham do much more in the market before deadline day now, but it’s safe to assume that if the team are struggling at all come January, Rob and Ryan will dip into their pockets once more.
It’s been a promising start to the season despite losing to Southampton, with some strong performances and that typical Wrexham grit and determination well and truly on show again.
Broadhead arriving will give Parkinson the strength in depth he needs to ensure that balance and energy is maintained throughout the campaign.
