Wrexham could surprise everyone by signing a former player in what’s left of this summer’s transfer window, and it would certainly come as a surprise.
Wrexham have really put together a solid looking transfer window with a flurry of signings in the last few weeks.
During the pre-season tour of Australia and New Zealand, Wrexham fans called for more signings after a run of disappointing performances.
Phil Parkinson heard those cries and quickly answered. Wrexham signed Liberato Cacace whilst they were still in his native New Zealand before then going on to secure deals for George Thomason, Lewis O’Brien, Josh Windass, Conor Coady and Kieffer Moore.
More signings are expected in the coming weeks, and we could even see one or two announced before Wrexham play Southampton on the opening day of the 2025/26 season this coming Saturday.

Wrexham identify Nathan Broadhead alternative, fans will remember his name
One player who the Dragons want to sign is Nathan Broadhead. Last week, rumour emerged stating that Wrexham want to sign Broadhead in a £7.5million deal from Championship rivals Ipswich Town, though a move for the Welsh international seems to be stalling and it could quickly fizzle out.
But Parkinson has an alternative player in mind if Broadhead doesn’t eventually move to the Racecourse: Davis Keillor-Dunn. Now 27 years old, Keillor-Dunn briefly played for Wrexham in 2020 where he scored one goal in six National League games before moving to Oldham Athletic.
Keillor-Dunn is now at Barnsley and last season he took League One by storm. The attacking midfielder scored 18 and assisted seven more in 42 League One games and Wrexham have been linked with Keillor-Dunn throughout the summer.
Daily Mail say that Parkinson views the Englishman as an option in case a move for Broadhead falls through.

What’s the latest on a Wrexham move for Nathan Broadhead
It looks like Broadhead is bound to leave Portman Road this summer. But whether or not he ends up in North Wales remains to be seen.
A former Wrexham youth player, Broadhead has gone on to big things in his career having represented Wales and Ipswich Town in the Premier League where he scored twice in 18 league outings last season.
The latest on the 27-year-old is that Broadhead has told Ipswich Town he wants to leave this summer.
Manager Kieran McKenna said so, but suggested that Ipswich won’t be selling anyone any time soon. He said: “He’s expressed his desire to look at another opportunity that’s been presented to him.
“But at this moment, with the position the club is in, it’s not the right time or even a possible time for us to allow a good player to leave the building.”
Wrexham’s game against Southampton kicks off at 12:30pm on Saturday and will be shown live on Sky Sports.
