Wrexham have been linked with a host of new defenders but one centre-back appears to be leaving the STōK Cae Ras.
Phil Parkinson has yet to bring in a new signing, but rumours have been rampant ever since Wrexham clinched promotion.
Whether it’s speculation linking Wrexham with a big move for Tom Cairney or Parkinson eyeing a move for Sunusi Ibrahim of CF Montreal, the rumour mill has been in overdrive.
Defenders have featured prominently with The Wrexham Insider understanding Wrexham have offered deals to Craig Dawson and Aaron Cresswell.
Ben Davies remains a Wrexham target despite having his Tottenham Hotspur deal extended, while Harry Darling is on Wrexham’s radar as his Swansea City deal runs out.
Parkinson appears to be looking to bolster his back line, but that means some defenders may need to move on.

Will Boyle in talks over Wrexham exit
The Sun’s Alan Nixon now reports that Wrexham defender Will Boyle is in talks to leave Wrexham for a move down to League Two.
Gillingham are understood to be making a move for Boyle as Gareth Ainsworth plots a route to promotion.
Boyle is out of favour at Wrexham and didn’t even feature in a single League One game last season.
Boyle needed to leave Wrexham this summer and the former Huddersfield Town man looks set for a move to Kent.
The 29-year-old played his part in Wrexham’s promotion from League Two but was always unlikely to feature in Parkinson’s plans in the Championship.
Boyle is a respected member of the PFA and, rather than sit out the final year of his Wrexham deal without playing, he is seeking first-team football at League Two level.
Left-footed centre-backs come into focus
We saw Boyle feature on the left of Parkinson’s back three in League Two, with his ability as a naturally left-footed defender coming into play.
Thomas O’Connor and the right-footed Lewis Brunt shared that role in League One, with Boyle left on the sidelines either through injury or selection.
Boyle’s seemingly imminent departure certainly raises the belief that another left-footed centre-back will be arriving.
Davies would be the dream signing given his superb Premier League career and the fact that he still has plenty left in the tank at 32.
Tottenham have extended the Welshman’s contract, though, and Wrexham could turn to Cresswell as a Davies alternative.
Cresswell is three years older than Davies, but also offers Premier League experience and natural ability on the left side.
Cresswell’s set-piece quality will appeal to Wrexham and his free agent status certainly makes him an easier signing than Davies.
