Wrexham stance on Harry Darling transfer

Despite Wrexham’s strong defensive record during their League One campaign, Parkinson is keen to add to his options at the back.

TBR Football’s transfer expert Graeme Bailey has revealed that the club have ‘talked’ to Darling over a move to the Racecourse Ground but there is stiff competition for his signature.

Bailey stated: “In terms of Darling – he is a player they [Wrexham] have talked to, but there are a lot of clubs in for him…”

Eoghan O’Connell is out of contract this summer and is yet to be offered a new deal, whilst Will Boyle is also a name that is expected to depart the club, potentially opening up room for Darling.

Harry Darling transfer would make sense after Phil Parkinson comments

Parkinson is targeting free agents this summer in a bid to build a Wrexham squad capable of holding their own in the second tier and Darling will fall under that category come June 30th.

Speaking to the Leader, Parkinson stated: “We have always got our eye on players who are free transfers and going to be available, and we’ll continue to do that. Recruitment is about getting a lot of tight decisions right and I felt we did that in January.”

Defence is obviously one area of the pitch the club are targeting with Wrexham interested in Maksym Talovierov from Plymouth Argyle, as well as the Swansea man.

Wrexham are also interested in the Cardiff duo Ollie Tanner and Isaak Davies as the transfer window begins to heat up.
