Wrexham will be looking to ride the wave of their recent success when they take on Reading on Tuesday night, and we’ve got all the details of how to watch the game, team news, and more.

The Red Dragons picked up another invaluable win at the weekend, defeating Rotherham United in a narrow 1-0 victory.

Phil Parkinson’s men were able to draw level with Wycombe in second place in the League One table and now have a chance to put themselves in a strong position going into the weekend’s clash with the Chairboys.

Up next is a trip to Reading, who have promotion ambitions of their own via the play-offs. Wrexham taught Reading a lesson last time they met, but things could be different this time.

Wrexham team and injury news

We’ve already offered up our Wrexham predicted XI vs Reading, with very little for Parkinson to tinker with here.

The big, long-term issue for Wrexham at the moment is Andy Cannon, who’s out for the season with an ACL injury picked up during the win over Mansfield Town.

George Dobson’s minor knock kept him out of the Rotherham game, and he may not be available for Tuesday’s clash as Parkinson looks to keep him fresh for the weekend.

Ollie Rathbone only lasted 70 minutes against Rotherham, but before you panic, Parkinson confirmed Rathbone just had cramp and they didn’t want to take any risks.

The trio of Callum Burton, Will Boyle, and Luke Bolton have missed the bulk of the campaign and are nowhere near ready to return.

Wrexham and Reading head-to-head record

These two teams have met just 30 times in the past, and it’s Reading who hold the historical advantage with 16 wins to Wrexham’s ten, plus four draws between them.

Wrexham battered Wrexham 3-0 back in August at the start of this campaign, with goals from Ollie Palmer, Elliot Lee, and Andy Cannon securing the win at the Racecourse Ground.

Reading vs Wrexham prediction

Wrexham are flying high and full of confidence after their recent run, and we simply cannot see them falling short now. They’ve got Wycombe Wanderers in their sights, and we know what Parkinson and his players are like when they get the bit between their teeth.

This won’t be an easy game, as Reading are a strong team, but Wrexham should steal the three points with a 2-1 win. Don’t be surprised to see Sam Smith ruin the party for his old team, either.
