Paul Mullin has regained form following his Wrexham exit, but another former player has been just as impressive of late.
2024/25 was a difficult campaign for Paul Mullin, who has spoken about being hampered by injury at Wrexham last term.
In total, the 30-year-old only found the back of the net three times for the Red Dragons in League One last season.
Mullin’s last Wrexham goal came on January 28, 2025, in a 3-2 defeat to Stevenage at the Racecourse Ground.
He was dropped from the squad after that match before being loaned to Wigan Athletic over the summer.
Mullin has matched his Wrexham record from 2024/25 since moving to the Latics, already managing to score three times in the third tier.
However, another former striker is now giving the Englishman a run for his money this term.

Former Wrexham striker rivalling Paul Mullin
In total, Mullin has four goals in all competitions for Wigan this term after netting once in the Carabao Cup versus Notts County.
Now, after the latest round of EFL fixtures over the weekend, another centre-forward has matched his tally.
Along with Mullin, the Dragons moved on several of their other previously key attackers this summer, including Ollie Palmer, Jack Marriott, and Steven Fletcher.
Wrexham sold Marriott to Reading during the 2025 summer transfer window for an undisclosed fee.
The 31-year-old has since been in prolific form for the Royals, most recently netting in a 1-1 draw with Stockport County on September 27.
Marriott has played seven fewer games than Mullin this season, but he already has the same number of League One goals (3) and has scored once in cup competitions.

Why Jack Marriott was unlucky at Wrexham
Rob Mac predicted big things for Marriott after he opened his account in 2024/25 versus Wycombe Wanderers.
He went on to score another four goals for Wrexham before suffering a long-term injury in October 2024.
The centre-forward returned to action in January 2025 but was unable to regain his starting berth, netting just one more league goal last term.
It was an unfortunate situation for Marriott, who was playing some of his best football in a Wrexham shirt prior to his injury.
But he has well and truly got back to his best at Reading and has swiftly cemented himself as their most lethal finisher with three goals in his last three League One appearances.
