Ollie Palmer has now spoken out on losing his Wrexham place under manager Phil Parkinson.
2025 has seen a number of previously crucial players depart the Racecourse Ground, including Ollie Palmer.
On Thursday, Wrexham terminated Eoghan O’Connell’s contract so he could leave for free and find a new club.
Tom O’Connor opened up on his exit from the North Wales outfit after signing for Peterborough United.
In total, including O’Connell, 21 players left the Dragons this summer, one of whom was Palmer, who has now spoken out on losing his place.

Ollie Palmer speaks on being dropped by Phil Parkinson
In 2024/25, Phil Parkinson dropped Palmer and Paul Mullin from his League One squad.
Neither player featured in the league after January 28, with Mullin securing a loan move to Wigan Athletic earlier in the summer transfer window.
Palmer moved to Swindon Town at the back end of August and, before his exit, he scored twice in the Carabao Cup versus Hull City.
However, he never made an appearance in the Championship and, following his exit, has opened up on losing his spot, as per BBC Sounds.
Palmer’s comments were classy, stating that he can’t begrudge not featuring.
He was quick to point out that when he first signed from AFC Wimbledon, he was put straight into the team, taking someone else’s place, which is what happened to him and Mullin in January and this summer.
He said: “I didn’t feature in the league this season, unfortunately. But I’m probably not as fit as what I was arriving here as what I was in pre-season, to be totally honest.
“It’s just the way it is, it is football. We had a huge squad that the club invested heavily, and absolutely can’t begrudge it. I walked in at Wrexham football club one Monday night and started the next day without meeting anyone, so it’s a fast-moving football club.”

Watch Ollie Palmer’s first goal for Swindon Town
Since leaving Wrexham, Palmer has made two appearances for Swindon.
He came off the bench over the weekend against Crewe Alexandra in a League Two meeting.
This week, he lined up against Jack Marriott’s Reading in the EFL Trophy and scored in a 3-2 win.
Wrexham are not in action this weekend due to the international break, but Palmer’s new team will take to the field.
Swindon travel away to Barrow in a 3pm BST League Two clash on Saturday, September 4.
