Wrexham striker Paul Mullin has been given a glowing verdict following his exit from the club.
The 30-year-old was a mainstay in the Red Dragons’ frontline before struggles in the 2024/25 season.
Phil Parkinson explained why he axed Paul Mullin and his fellow long-time partner, Ollie Palmer, earlier this year.
And after losing his place in the squad, Mullin was loaned to Wigan Athletic for the 2025/26 season.
The reason Wrexham let the striker leave has recently been shared by manager Ryan Lowe.
And the Wigan boss has also opened up on Mullin’s decision to join the Latics this summer.

Before his transfer, Mullin wanted to play in the Championship with Wrexham for at least one game.
He said: “Just to play one game in the Championship at Wrexham would be worth absolutely everything, be the icing on the cake for this story, who knows where it could end. I’ve enjoyed absolutely every minute here.”
That, of course, will not be happening anytime soon, but the player has managed to secure a move he was happy about.
As per BBC Sport, Lowe has now praised the attacker and explained that Wigan were the ‘only’ team Mullin wanted to join this summer instead of sitting on the bench at the Racecourse.
He also went on to express hope that the Wrexham loanee will score plenty of goals this season.
The Wigan coach stated: “When there’s a goal-scorer like that, of that ilk, it’s important that I make sure I act on that and to be fair to Mulls with the conversation I had, there was only one club he wanted to come to and that was us.
“He could have sat on the bench at Wrexham and made some cameos but he’s chose to come here and hopefully score loads of goals.”

Wigan begin their 2025/26 season on August 2 when they take on Northampton Town in a League One fixture.
After featuring heavily in pre-season, the Red Dragons loanee should be involved in the fixture, which will be his first competitive start since February.
Wrexham can recall Mullin in the 2026 January transfer window due to a clause in his loan agreement.
And should he bag plenty of goals in the first half of 2025/26, that could be an option they explore, especially if their own strikers are struggling.
