Sam Dalby has been in top form this season, while most of Wrexham’s strikers have floundered.
Phil Parkinson’s side are fighting at the top end of League One currently but are lagging behind their rivals on the goal front.
Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer are really struggling to find the back of the net, while Wrexham’s top-scoring number nine this campaign has just six goals (Steven Fletcher).
Wrexham are close to signing Ryan Longman and the Hull City man can play up front – though his goal return is not spectacular.
However, Parkinson and co. already appear to have a readymade centre-forward option that can step up over the coming months in the form of Sam Dalby.
Dalby has excelled with Dundee United, scoring 10 goals in the Scottish top flight, but a decision over his future is yet to be made.

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson provides Sam Dalby update
Dundee United want to keep Dalby on their books, and who can blame them given his form, but the Welsh outfit do have the option to recall him in January.
Speaking last week, meanwhile, Parkinson offered an update on the Wrexham loanee, claiming they were going to make a decision on whether to recall him or not soon.
He said: “We are going to make a decision on Sam this week.”
However, over a week has passed and right now, the 25-year-old is still on the books of Dundee United.
Now though, as per Leader Live, Parkinson has provided another update on the striker, confirming why they are yet come to a decision over his future.
He said: “We haven’t fully decided on that yet. Sam had a game on Monday night and we wanted to get that game out of the way.”

What has Sam Dalby said about his future
While Parkinson is undecided, Dalby has already spoken out on his future in an interview earlier this month.
The centre-forward is seemingly happy with Dundee United and shared how he just wants to play games.
He said: “I’ve not heard anything, yet. It’s the January transfer window and I don’t know when they can call me back. We will see.
“I just want to play, and this is a great place to be. We are doing well and I’m scoring goals. I’m happy.”
Should Dalby return to Wrexham, he will be competing with five players for two positions – six if Longman is used as a centre-forward.
In turn, while it’s probably not in the best interest of the League One side, the player may be better served seeing out his loan.
