Ollie Palmer and Paul Mullin have been playing well since leaving Wrexham, but another former player is matching the duo.

Ollie Palmer’s Wrexham contract was terminated in August so that the centre-forward could sign for Swindon Town for free.

Paul Mullin has moved to Wigan Athletic, but will return to the Racecourse Ground in 2026 when his loan deal is up.

Already this term, Palmer has broken his goal record from the 2024/25 season, most recently netting in a League Two tie with Bromley.

Elsewhere, Mullin has matched his Wrexham tally in League One with the Latics.

In the league this season, both Mullin and Palmer, at the time of writing, have three goals each.

They are respectable records for two very experienced centre-forwards, but another player who recently left is matching them.

Wrexham released eight players for free when their contracts ran out on June 30, 2025.

Among those was Jordan Davies, who struggled to find a new club and was training with the PFA squad over the summer.

Davies eventually found a new team on August 27, joining Fleetwood Town.

It’s fair to say that the midfielder has hit the ground running with Fleetwood, already scoring three goals and providing one assist in five league matches.

Manager praises Jordan Davies

The 27-year-old began his senior career with Wrexham and went on to score 31 goals in 139 appearances.

He spent last season out on loan with Grimsby Town, and now that he’s found a new permanent home, Davies is thriving.

Fleetwood’s manager praised the ex-Wrexham midfielder recently after he scored in a 4-2 win over Colchester United.

He stated: “I’ve been a big fan of Jordan for years, and he showed his quality today with two terrific finishes.

“He gives us balance, he can spot a pass, and he brings goals.”
