Liberato Cacace has become the latest Wrexham signing of the Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac era, and he’s unique.
Since becoming owners in February 2021, Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have done everything in their power to support the Red Dragons in the transfer market.
Previously, Wrexham broke their transfer record four times under Rob and Ryan.
They signed Ollie Palmer, Ollie Rathobone, Modou Faal and Sam Smith all in record deals, with Smith costing just over £2m.
However, the fee paid out for Smith has been completely smashed this week, with Wrexham signing Liberato Cacace.
Cacace has set the Red Dragons back £4m, including bonuses, but that’s not why Rob and Ryan have made history in their era of owning Wrexham.

Why Liberato Cacace is historic signing for Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac
Countless top names have arrived in Wales since the Hollywood stars’ first transfer window back in the summer of 2021.
Securing Paul Mullin after he finished 2020/21 as League Two’s top scorer and had won promotion was a major coup.
Mullin, along with the likes of Ollie Palmer, will go down in history at the Racecourse Ground.
However, when the 2025 summer transfer window kicked off, Wrexham were yet to sign a player from Europe under Mac and Reynolds.
All of their previous signings, including two this summer – Ryan Hardie and Danny Ward – had come from clubs in either the UK or Ireland.
However, Cacace has joined Wrexham from Italian side Empoli, who were in the Serie A before their relegation to Serie B in 2024/25.
He’s a New Zealand native with 16 caps and one goal for his country.
