Ollie Palmer left Wrexham ahead of deadline day, joining League Two hopefuls Swindon Town on a permanent deal.

Ollie Palmer‘s time at Wrexham always looked as though it would come to an end this summer, and after some back and forth, Swindon Town signed Palmer on a two-year deal.

The 33-year-old striker is among several players to have left Wrexham this summer, along with fellow strike partner Paul Mullin who joined Wigan Athletic on loan.

Towards the end of the window, names like George Evans, Tom O’Connor and Eoghan O’Connell also left the club.

The big striker was looking good this season. Palmer scored twice in Wrexham’s Carabao Cup win over Hull City earlier in the season, and he played for Swindon just a day after signing for the club.

Then on his first start against Reading in the following game, Palmer scored in a 3-2 EFL Trophy win, playing again in the following game against Barrow.

In three games for Swindon, Palmer has won all three with one goal.
